It is how older acts can get a lot more exposure by pandering a bit to the edm communities. It has even worked for Christina in the past and her songs have always had a hard push on dance formats.
actually, people like Taylor Swift has been releasing literal dozens of remixes in order to scam their way into #1 on the charts. it's pretty much how BoTS got all their #1s
